Domodedovo International Airport Expects New Year’s Arrival

It is expected that the number of flights to Thailand will grow significantly. Today, it is the most dynamically developing tourist destination offered by Domodedovo. At the beginning of the winter season, the passenger traffic in this direction grows approximately 1.5 times the normal volume. Together, Transaero and Thai International Airways operate a total of 11 flights to Thailand a week using such roomy aircraft as Boeing 747-200 (Transaero) and Boeing 777-200 (Thai International Airways). Transaero has scheduled three additional flights to Bangkok and Utapao for the holiday season, using its comfortable Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 747-200 aircraft. Domodedovo International Airport Announces Operating Results for First Eleven Months of 2006

According to the results of Domodedovo International Airport activities in January-November 2006, Domodedovo is maintaining its leading position among Moscow area airports in terms of passenger traffic. Overall passenger throughput at Domodedovo in the first eleven months of 2006 reached 14,215,000 passengers, a 9.6% increase over the same period of 2005. The highest growth was recorded to destinations such as Bangkok, Sochi, London, Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, St.Petersburg, Istanbul, Samara, Larnaka, Krasnodar. Domodedovo handled over 1,825,000 passengers on these routes, a 40% growth over the first eleven months of 2005. Passenger traffic in November 2006 amounted to 1,146,000 passengers, a 11.8% increase against the November 2005 results. Domodedovo International Airport Names Best Tenant of QIII 2006

Domodedovo International Airport announced the results of the “Best tenant of the Domodedovo airport terminal” competition for the third quarter of 2006. This time, the winner named by the airport was Filias LLC, “Kofemania” cafй.The award ceremony was held on December 12, 2006 at the “Kofemania” cafй located on the first floor of the Domodedovo airport terminal, airside. The “Best tenant” certificate and a memorable diploma were awarded to Director General of Filias LLC, Igor Viktorovich Zhuravlyov. Austrian Airlines and AiRUnion Alliance Announce Co-operation Based on Domodedovo International Airport

-->Austrian Airlines and AiRUnion Alliance held a joint press conference today to announce strategic co-operation on the basis of Domodedovo International Airport. Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines Dr. Josef E. Burger, President of AiRUnion Mr. Alexander Abramovich, Director of Domodedovo Airport Complex Mr. Sergei Rudakov and Chairman of the Tirol Tourism Council Mr. Roger Aerni took part in the event. Italian Air Carrier Alpi Eagles Launches Service to Domodedovo International Airport

Italian air carrier Alpi Eagles has launched service to Domodedovo International Airport with twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays on the Bari-Moscow-Bari route, using 98-seat Fokker-100 aircraft.The airline plans to increase flight frequency and destinations after securing necessary licenses from Russian Federation aviation authorities. Domodedovo International Airport Launches Downtown-to-Ufa Service

Domodedovo International Airport announced today the launch of a new intermodal project designed to take passengers from downtown Moscow to the city of Ufa in 195 minutes.  The new service is being implemented in co-operation with VIM Airlines. The service is the latest addition to the intermodal programme intended help passengers save time on travel from downtown Moscow to flight destinations served by Domodedovo Airport. Under the programme, a passenger is issued a single travel document covering rail and air travel. In late November of 2006, one of the Domodedovo airport’s traditional partners – Runway Duty Free – congratulated its one millionth customer at the airport passenger terminal. The married couple that happened to be the store’s one millionth customer was congratulated by Runway Duty Free General Manager, John Moriarty, who presented them with a gift – an exclusive crystal swan manufactured by the Austrian company Swarovski.Runway has been operating at the Domodedovo passenger terminal since November 2004 when the company’s first store selling Swarovski crystals was opened. New Aeroexpress Route Connecting Domodedovo International Airport and Belorussky Railway Station

A new railway route connecting downtown Moscow and the Domodedovo International Airport was launched in operation in December 2006.Aeroexpress, a rapid train analogous to the one operating between the Paveletsky railway station and Domodedovo airport, consists of eight comfortable carriages and operates between the Domodedovo airport and the Belorussky railway station via the Kursky railway station and Kalanchovskaya platform three times a day. The comfortable train takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to travel from the Domodedovo airport to the Belorussky railway station of Moscow with short stops at the Kursky railway station and Kalanchovskaya platform, or in the opposite direction. The ticket costs 120 rubles. For customers’ convenience, Aeroexpress passengers can purchase their tickets from controllers operating on the train. Thai International Airways Increases Service Frequency from Domodedovo International Airport

Domodedovo International Airport announced today an increase in flight frequency by Thai International Airways from Moscow (DME) to Bangkok. The airline will offer four flights a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) instead of three services (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays). In addition, the airline will be operating 292-seat Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the route, with business and economy class configuration, in place of the Airbus A340-600 with fewer seats. Information of the Press-Service of Domodedovo Airport

According to the information of British Airways, the airline’s flight BA 873 on the route Moscow (DME) – London scheduled to depart from Domodedovo on Nov.29 at 17.00 was cancelled due to technical reasons. The passengers of the flight BA 873 flew from Moscow to London on the same day at 21.35 by British Airways flight BA 835.The airline’s Boeing 767 is parked at the Domodedovo aircraft parking. Domodedovo International Airport Completes Schedules Phase of New Terminal Construction

Within the framework of the advanced plan for Domodedovo International Airport developed with regard to the world trend of the growing passenger flow EAST LINE Group has completed a number of operations for commissioning new infrastructure facilities and premises. On November 29, 2006 a new arrival zone of the international airlines sector with a total area of 3,000 sq.m will be opened. The Domodedovo International Airport magazine has celebrated its 5th anniversary. The festivities were held in the restaurant Porto Maltese. Air Berlin Launches Service to Domodedovo International Airport

Starting Dec. 21, 2006, budget carrier Air Berlin of Germany launches regular service between Domodedovo International Airport and Nuremberg. The air link will be the first between Moscow and Nuremberg. Nuremberg will be the seventh German city linked with Domodedovo. Air Berlin will operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 189-seat capacity on a three/week schedule (Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays). Domodedovo International Airport Linked to New Destination: Archangelsk

Interavia airline today launches a new thrice-weekly service between Domodedovo International Airport and Archangelsk, operating Yak-42D aircraft Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays in economy and business class configurations.Co-operation between Domodedovo airport and Interavia airline was initiated in July 2005. The airline has carried over 107,000 passengers since that time. Rescue Teams and Operative Shift Officers of Domodedovo International Airport Successfully Complete Training Exercises

On November 16, 2006, rescue teams (RT) and operative shift officers of the airport complex conducted a series of scheduled emergency rescue training exercises. The training exercises entitled “Conduct of rescue, evacuation, and restorative operations on the airport territory, as well as other activities designed to alleviate the consequences of an aviation accident (AC) using rescue resources of the operative shift of the airport complex” focused on mastering skills required to handle emergency situations caused by technogenic accidents. The training participants used an aircraft (IL-62, 170 passenger seats) landing situation to practice rescue operations, and extinguished a fire at a fuel-and-oil warehouse. The training exercises gauged the level of preparedness of the airport’s rescue team for emergency rescue work. New destinations from Domodedovo

New flight destinations – to Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Vienna (Austria) – will start from the Domodedovo International Airport. bmi Launches Regular Service to Domodedovo International Airport

Bmi, one of the leading British air carriers, launched regular service to Domodedovo International Airport starting Oct. 29, 2006. The airline will offer two services per day on the London (Heathrow)-Moscow (Domodedovo)-London (Heathrow) route.The flights are covered by a code-sharing agreement signed between bmi and Transaero (Russia). Bmi will be responsible for one flight a day operating Airbus A-320 aircraft and the second flight will be under Transaero colours, using Boeing B737 aircraft. According to the code-sharing agreement between the two airlines, both of the carriers can sell seats on each others’ flights -- i.e. passengers of either airline can fly with the other.Bmi has become the 20th international airline offering regular flights from Domodedovo International Airport. DME Connections'2006 Sixth Annual International Interline Forum

Initiated by the Domodedovo International Airport, "DME Connections'2006" Internline Conference was held. Domodedovo Transfer Service project results were presented there. The project's main objectives are to establish transfer links through the Domodedovo Airport, to enter new markets and to coordinate segmented route networks.
