This event brought together participants and the winners of the open Aviation Photography Competition.Photographers who garnered most votes not only received prizes from the organizers of the competition, but they also were given an opportunity to participate in a unique spotting session: they could photograph aircraft at a safe distance from taxiways and runways while still remaining within their immediate proximity. The event program also included an excursion to the ATB.In May 2007, for the first time in Russia, the Domodedovo airport brought together the country’s best spotters – almost 50 professional photographers specialising in taking pictures of aircraft. Transaero is launching new regular flights to Sydney (Australia), Johannesburg (SAR), and Mauritius.Schedule flights from Moscow to Sydney with an interim landing in Hong Kong will be launched on December the 24th, 2007 and operated once every fortnight using Boeing 767 aircraft. Transaero will be one of the few European airlines, alongside British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Air France, to operate regular flights to Australia.On December the 29th, Transaero will start operating regular flights from Moscow to Mauritius via Johannesburg. Emergency rescue team training held at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport

A complex training session was held today at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport with Emergency Rescue Team (ERT) and the aerodrome’s operative shift services participation.According to the training legend, a passenger aircraft with jammed landing gear was forced to land at the Domodedovo airport. As a result of landing the forward fuselage of the aircraft was serious damaged. This caused a fire onboard. The ERT and the aerodrome services were to implement a full scope of activities required in case of an aviation accident and meet a range of strictly set norms: they were to evacuate the passengers from the aircraft, provide required assistance to injured passengers and crew members, extinguish the fire onboard, and remove a dangerous cargo from the airplane.The training session consisted of three phases. On December the 2nd from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. election precinct № 404 will be open at Domodedovo Passenger Terminal. The election precinct will be open for holding of State Duma elections and head count.Airport’s passengers and its guests who can’t vote at place of residence registration election precincts could vote in the airport. According to performance results of January-October 2007 Moscow Domodedovo International Airport maintains leading position in terms of passenger traffic in Moscow aviation hub. Passenger throughput amounted to 15 934 778 passengers in January-October 2007, a 21.9% increase over the same period in 2006.Within 10 months of 2007 Domodedovo airport serviced more passengers than within the whole 2006. Three new destinations will be opened in Moscow Domodedovo International airport during winter flight schedule

Moscow Domodedovo International Airport aerodrome services are completing preparation of the airport complex for the forthcoming winter season. Activities undertaken to that end have included planned inspection of all surfaces, buildings and structures, technical equipment, complete renovation of the runway marks, the platform and taxiways, cleaning of the water draining system, as well as inspection of all the lighting equipment. To protect the runways from icing a sufficient amount of chemical reagents has been acquired to be sprayed by two vehicles, including one combination de-icing machine that is capable of disbursing both liquid and granulated reagents. The airport services operate 35 units of special equipment that are used to remove snow from the runways, taxiways, the platform, and areas surrounding the hangars. These units include 16 snowploughs the most powerful of which is capable of removing 5,000 tons of snow per hour, as well as three new high-capacity sweepers and blowers. It takes only 15 mi

Domodedovo airport is the first airport in Eastern Europe implemented railway service with Passenger Terminal in Moscow downtown. Speed transport system Aeroexpress has been set down in 2002 – more than five years ago. Aeroexpress connected Moscow Domodedovo International airport with Paveletsky railway station.The passengers can check-in in the reconstructed Passenger Terminal in Paveletsky railway station. Nowadays train set consists of eight carriages: seven carriages for passengers wagon and one for the luggage. Average train set seats amount to 573 seats. The Aeroexpress train runs every hour and every 30 minutes in peak hours.In 2006 24% of Domodedovo passengers used Aeroexpress train to get to the airport. According to forecast this index will grow up to 25% in 2007 which will amount to 4.7 mln of people.
