Iberia Airline increases the number of flights to Moscow Domodedovo International airport

Starting from October 28th Iberia Airline increases the number of flights from Madrid to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport.Starting from October 28th Iberia Airline will operate twice a day: early morning and late evening. Currently airline operates twelve times a week except Wednesdays and Saturdays when morning flight isn’t performed. New flight schedule will grant passengers access to a various number of connections in Domodedovo (Moscow) and in Barajas (Madrid). According to airline forecast additional flights Madrid-Moscow-Madrid will increase carriage capacity up to 39%. Curently average flight load is about 75%. Moscow Domodedovo International airport threw it's doors open for orphan children

«City airport for children!» –Moscow Domodedovo International Airport together with one of Russian Child Foundations made a tour today through Domodedovo Airport complex under this slogan. 25 children from Tugolesskiy and Ruzskyi Children’s Community took part in the excursion. Average age of children is 14-15 years, the youngest Marina Kozhanova is only 10 years old. The majority of them have never been to any airport and have never seen airplanes. Today they had an opportunity to see the operation of the biggest aviation hub in Russia inside. Very likely air transport industry becomes lifework for some of these children. The children visited “Domodedovo Security” training center, Passenger Terminal, aviation hangars and other objects during the day. S7 Airlines gave a shew to visit it’s flight deck. On October 6, 2007, a delegation of the Alexandrian Orthodox Church, led by its Primate His Divine Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, landed at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport. Jacques Rogge lands at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport

Today, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogge landed at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport. Immediately after the arrival of the distinguished guest, a joint press conference was held at Domodedovo of Mr. Jacques Rogge, the Mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov, and the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev. Air Berlin airline has become the first foreign air carrier to join the Domodedovo Transfer Service Project. Moscow Domodedovo International Airport to participate in the Routes International forum in Stockholm, Sweden

On September 23-25, 2007, Moscow Domodedovo International Airport will participate in the events of the Routes international forum. Routes Forum has been recognized over the 12 years of its history as a key forum for talks and networking among airports and airlines from all over the world. The total volume of passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 12,243,018 people in January-August 2007, an increase of 20.2% over the same period of 2006. Flights to Ekaterinburg, Hurghada, Antalya, London, Bangkok, Saint-Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Tivat, Krasnodar, and Mineralnye Vody saw the highest growth. 2,943,702 passengers flying to these destinations were serviced at Domodedovo in January-August 2007, which is a 1.3-fold increase from the first eight months in 2006. Norwegian Air Shuttle launches regular flights to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport

On August 16, 2007, Norwegian Air Shuttle began operation of regular flights between Oslo and Moscow (Domodedovo). The flights will be operated five times a week using Boeing 737-300 aircraft seating 148 passengers. This is a first destination in northern Europe to be connected with the Domodedovo airport by regular flights – all previous flights have been seasonal charters. Domodedovo International airport summarizes operational results for the first seven months of 2007

As of July 2007, Domodedovo International Airport continues to be the leading airport of the Moscow aviation node in terms of the passenger traffic. In January – July 2007, the airport serviced more than 10 million passengers which is a 19.6% increase as compared to the same period of the previous year. The most significant passenger traffic growth was observed on flights to the following destinations: Yekaterinburg, Hurghada, Antalya, Vienna, London, Bangkok, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Tivat, and Baku. In January – July 2007, Domodedovo serviced 2,406 thousand passengers traveling to these destinations, which is 1.4 times the number of passengers serviced on flights to these destinations in the first seven months of 2006. In July 2007, the overall passenger traffic processed by the airport amounted to 2,113 thousand people which is a 22.0% increase as compared to the July 2006 figure. Aviation photography contest begins on the Domodedovo International Airport website

Moscow, August 14, 2007. An "Aviation photography contest" was launched today on the Domodedovo International Airport website. Anyone willing to participate in the contest can familiarize themselves with its rules and submit their aviation-themed photographs taken in any airport of the world. The deadline for submission of entries is October 1. All photographs submitted for the contest will be made available on its webpage. On August 7, 2007, Domodedovo International Airport began implementation of a new phase of the Domodedovo Transit Service project designed to turn the airport into a large air transportation node, also known as a hub. Domodedovo suggests that passengers save their time and money when planning an indirect flight by buying airplane tickets at through fares. As part of the Domodedovo Transit Service project passengers are offered the opportunity to buy tickets for indirect flights (connecting at Domodedovo) at special through air fares that are often lower than direct flight fares. New Buildings for Technical Brigades at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport

In compliance with its strategic development plan Domodedovo International Airport has commissioned two new buildings for technical brigades. The new facilities will improve efficiency of interaction between the airport and its partner airlines and provide the latter with the most comfortable working conditions possible. The buildings will serve as the working space for the engineers and technicians of the airlines based at Domodedovo. The facilities are located within the airside zone of the airport and have access to the boarding platform. The airport has fully commissioned a three-storey building and partially – a five-storey building.
