At the end of 2011 the Directorate – General for State Environmental Review of Russia has issued a favourable conclusion в„–1330-11/ГГЭ-5762/04 for project documentation "Reconstruction and development of Domdedovo Airport. Objects of federal ownership (first and second phase of the project)". It is yet another step in the execution of the decree on the construction of a new runway in Moscow Domodedovo Airport executed by Russian Ministry of Transport in May last year. Over 40 units of equipment are used by Moscow Domodedovo Airport for snow removal every day. The runway, taxiways and aircraft parking spaces are cleaned twenty four-seven. The total cleaned area is 2,310,349.15 sq.m. In winter, over 200,000 m3 of snow is removed. There is a special place for snow storage in the territory of the Airport.
