AIRZENA Georgian airlines national air carrier of Georgia has launched scheduled flights from Domodedovo International airport to Tbilisi since December 1. These flights used to be carried out to Vnukovo airport. Flights will be carried out daily by Boeing-737 in two-class composition. On November 25th, 2003 Tunis' Karthago Airlines launches scheduled passenger flights from Domodedovo International Airport to Tunis, capital of the country, and to Monastir, Tunis' resort. In the winter timetable 2003/2004 the airline will perform one-two flights per week. This year Domodedovo International Airport demonstrates a large increase in passenger turnover to international destinations. In 10 months of 2003 the overall passenger turnover of Domodedovo Airport amounted to 7.85 million passengers. This number exceeds the result of the same period in 2002 by 40%. Egypt Air the national air carrier of Egypt has begun scheduled flights to Cairo from Domodedovo International airport since November 13. These flights used to be carried out to Sheremetyevo. RusLine airline has launched scheduled passenger flights from Domodedovo International Airport to Ioshkar Ola, capital of Russia’s Mariy El republic. The airline is operating Yakovlev Yak-40 jet to perform three weekly flights: on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday from Moscow and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from Ioshkar Ola. A specialised service for the handicapped was established in Domodedovo International Airport. The new service staffed by highly skilled specialists will provide passengers with limited movement abilities with a whole range of free of charge services. Domodedovo International airport has taken up the realization of the joint programme “From the center of Moscow to Nizhniy Novgorod for 200 minutes”. Thanks to speed transport system (STS), linking Domodedovo airport with the center of Moscow passengers got the opportunity to register for the flight at Paveletskiy station and to get to the airport by comfortable modern aeroexpress for 40 minutes. On September 16-17 2003 regular civil defense exercises were carried out in Domodedovo international airport.The exercises the theme of which “Actions of the top-management and civil defense forces dealing in the emergency situations in the conditions of the peace and military time” were devoted to the performance of the events at the menace of emergency man-cause situations.  Issues on carrying out of research and rescue works were practically fulfilled at the crash landing of the aircraft (Il-76, 170 seats) and putting out of the fire at the Petroleum Products objects (the area of ignition – 450 sq.m., 12 people of victims, threat of explosion).   100 people and 39 units of special equipment were involved in the exercises. January-February 2003 results indicate that an overall passenger traffic at Domodedovo Airport February 2003 results are remarkable. Passenger traffic grew by 76% over the same period of 2002 to 461,205 passengers. In February 2003, Domodedovo served 89,314 passengers on international routes other than CIS countries, which is a 290% increase over 2002.
