On October 28-29, 2009 in Moscow international airport Domodedovo complex exercises of civil defense named "Organization of work of managers, governments, civil defense forces and staff of Moscow international airport Domodedovo while putting on a war footing and coming of man-made emergencies” were held. During the events specialists of services and divisions of the airport practiced emergency warning, containment and extinguishing of fire, the elimination of blockage and cleaning of spilled fuel. Also rescue operations during emergency landing of an aircraft with unreleased left main landing gear was shown to public at large. Particular attention was paid to the teachings of interaction with the forces and means of Domodedovo urban district and Moscow region. In the complex exercises were involved more than 50 employees of fire departments of the Third Division of the Federal Emergency Fire Service of Russia, Moscow Region, Department of Defense and Emergency of Domodedovo Urban District. Ural Airlines began new flights to St. Petersburg from Moscow international airport Domodedovo. The flights are operated by the following schedule: departing from Moscow to St. Petersburg - at 13:50 every day except Saturdays, on Saturdays - at 15:30, arriving at 15:20 pm daily, except Saturdays, on Saturdays - at 16:50. Departure from St. Petersburg to Moscow - at 16:30 every day except Saturday, on Saturdays - at 18:00, arrival - at 17:50 every day except Saturday, on Saturdays - at 19:15. Flight time - 1 hour 30 min. The flights are executed on modern and comfortable A320s. The use of this fuel-frugal type of aircraft allows the airline to set low tariffs - from 1600 rubles in one direction. Fuel taxes in this direction are not charged. The base of Ural Airlines fleet are modern and comfortable aircrafts of Airbus European group. Currently Ural Airlines exploits A320 and A321 in terms of operational leasing, in the near future the park will be replenished by seven new Airbus A320 aircrafts.   >>>

On Autumn, 2009 charity children's drawing competition "Drawing Space" among inmates of Moscow childrenЎ®s homes was summed up. The competition was held by Singapore Airlines with the support of Moscow international airport Domodedovo. 38 works of 32 participants in age from 7 to 19 years were selected for the final. Among the children's works were real masterpieces in the technique of batik and appliquЁ¦, draw with pastels, gouache and watercolor. The real decoration of the contest entries exhibition was a big rocket (height more than 2 meters), made by inmates of sanatorium children's house Ўн 14. Expert jury includes the general representative of Singapore Airlines Eddy Leong, representatives of Domodedovo airport and the editor of Doctor Travel magazine Galina Mihaylovskaya. In October, 2009 Moscow international airport Domodedovo organized two excursions for schoolchildren. Second-graders of Moscow school # 1771, as well as the pupils of the school at the Japanese Embassy in Moscow visited Domodedovo. Children visited the Aviation Training Center (ATC)of Domodedovo - the only of its kind in Russia, where officers of aviation security are trained. Children learned what items can not be carried in hand luggage and baggage, became acquainted with the rules of the international airports. Then excursionists went to an airliner, which is used for education and training of Domodedovo staff. With great interest children visited cockpit, set in the commander's chair and held the steering wheel of the aircraft. The young guests of the airport learned what procedures must be passed before you get on the plane board, what to do if you suddenly get lost, and what you can do in Domodedovo airport while waiting for a flight. The European agency on aviation safety (EASA) has prolonged the action of conformity certificate EASA PART-145 for maintenance service of aircrafts of foreign manufacture to DOMODEDOVO TECHNIK. The given certificate allows to perform linear maintenance service of aircrafts Boeing-737/757/767 and Airbus-319/320/321, and also base maintenance service under forms A-check for Boeing-737/757/767 and C-check (1С -4С ) for Boeing-737 Classic, including repair and replacement of aircrafts components. Moscow International Airport Domodedovo, Russian ZOOM and FOTOTravel present personal exhibition of the works of distinguished modern photographer Lev Melikhov. The exhibition features 23 black – and- white portraits made since the 80-s of the 20th century until today. Lev Melikhov is a member of the Union of Artists, graduated the Moscow Institute of Architecture, and is an architect. But photography became his main occupation. He got his first camera as a present when he was 8 years old and has been taking pictures ever since. It has been over 50 years now. Since 1963 his pictures have been published in various Russian journals and magazines. The author always takes portraits. Love and respect of his heroes never allows him to film in motion - they all pose for him, and this is one of the most difficult genres of photography.   >>>
