When the summer timetable for 2011 comes into operation, airberlin will be expanding its route network from Basel Mulhouse Freiburg airport. The airline has added two new direct services. airberlin will be flying an Airbus A 320 with a seating capacity of 174 to Enfidha (Tunisia) at 06.50 hours on Tuesdays. airberlin is starting a new direct service to Switzerland. From 24th February 2011 the carrier?s red and white aircraft will fly up to twice a day from Berlin-Tegel to Basel. The early plane takes off at 08.55 hours Mondays to Fridays, while the evening plane leaves at 17.10 hours. At weekends there will be one flight a day: at 08.55 hours on Saturdays and at 17.10 hours on Sundays. Moscow Domodedovo Airport Embarks on a New Stage of Building and Reconstruction

As part of the Investment Plan of Building and Reconstruction of Passenger Terminals prime contractors have been chosen for building and finishing works. Expansion of passenger terminal T1 and building of terminal T2 are envisaged by the Plan.In the near future MIWEL Ltd. to commence reconstruction of the current international arrivals area. Preliminary completion date is established for April 2012. General volume of renovated floor space will total 135 000 sqr. meters. When the works completed T1 floor space will total 275 000 sqr. meters.Ekoproekt-Plaz LLC will build a new passenger terminal T2. The first stage will see a gallery with 9 ramps providing direct connection between building and aircraft. Preliminary completion date is established for March 2013. From 15th April 2011 the airberlin jets will be taking off every Monday and Friday for the Italian port. On Wednesday in Mallorca, airberlin chief executive Joachim Hunold received a gold medal from the Mallorcan Chamber of Commerce and Industry for his "outstanding contribution to tourist development on the Ballearic Islands." The award was conferred by Balearic president Francesc Antich and Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Joan Gual at a ceremony attended by approximately 500 guests from the political, business and media communities. Mallorca has been airberlin?s top destination since the company?s founding more than three decades ago. And indeed, the company?s inaugural passenger flight on 28 April 1979 flew from Berlin to Mallorca.
