Holy Fire at Moscow Domodedovo Airport

On the Great Easter, the Holy Fire descended in the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and was transferred to the Chapel of the Archangel Michael. Exclusive parking for airberlin passengers at Munich Airport

Germany's second largest airline opened an exclusive parking area at Munich Airport on Wednesday 27.04.2011. As part of its luxury service scheme airberlin has established another time-saving service for holders of a topbonus Gold or Silver Card in the form of its exclusive parking area in car park P5 at Munich Airport which is located in the immediate vicinity of the gate. Use of this exclusive parking area is only subject to standard parking charges which can be paid at the parking machine in cash or using an EC or credit card. No other charges are made. There are also separate check-in counters in the terminal for holders of a topbonus Gold or Silver Card which means that overall airberlin has successfully minimised waiting times for these passengers. Koltsovo to Provide Technical Stop and Refueling for Vladivostok Air

Ekaterinburg Koltsovo International Airport made an agreement with Vladivostok Air in April, under which it will refuel the airline’s planes flying from Moscow Vnukovo Airport to Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. It is connected with the overhaul, and shortening, of Vnukovo’s Runway 2 (the runways of Vnukovo intersect) resulting in a limited MTOW. Moscow Domodedovo Airport Received Permit to Accept Sukhoi Superjet 100

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has become one of the first Russian airports to receive permit to service takeoff and landing of the Russian short-haul passenger aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100. Corresponding Order was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency. Moscow Domodedovo Airport is ready to accept and service aircrafts of this type and meets all ground servicing requirements. First Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft was presented to the public on 26 September 2007 at factory in Komsomolsk-na-Amure. Its' first successful flight was demonstrated on 19 May 2008 in the same place. On 3 February 2011 Sukhoi Superjet 100 received Certificate of Type of the Air Register of the Moscow Air Committee. Civil Jets of Sukhoi Company is owned by the Sukhoi Company (75% - 1 share) and, from 7 April 2009, by the strategic partner Italian Alenia Aeronautica Company (25% - 1 share). According to the results of the March 2011 passenger flow at the Moscow Domodedovo Airport was 1 579 972 people, which is 4.6% more than in March 2010.In March 2011 17 272 flights have been serviced, which is 13.0% more than in March 2010.Thus Domodedovo Airport demonstrated growth of the main indicators in May, in spite of closure of tourist flights to Egypt.Passenger flow at the internal flights was about 685 440 people. Wolfgang Grimus, 45, joins airberlin as the company's new Head of Network Planning and Development on 1 May 2011.Grimus, originally from Austria, graduated from the Amstetten Commercial Academy and is completing an executive MBA by Danube University Krems.Grimus started his professional career at Austrian Airlines in 1985, initially in the Finance department and later in Marketing. In 1994, he moved to Lauda Air as Head of Route Development and, two years later, was appointed Director Network Management. He returned to Austrian Airlines in 2001 as Head of Network Planning. Grimus subsequently gained a year's experience as Head of Market Research before being named as Head of Network Development Eastern Europe & Austria. airberlin bond offering closed due to over-subscription

Due to the high demand, only one day after issuing a new 8.25 % bond, Air Berlin PLC will end the subscription ahead of schedule. The subscription period will end today and thus earlier than planned, as the subscriptions for the bonds already exceed the maximum principal amount of the bond issue of 150 million Euro. The subscription period for the bonds issued on 12 April was originally planned to run through 15 April. The bonds will be issued at 100 % of their principal amount and will be redeemed at 100 % of their principal amount on 19 April 2018, subject to prior early redemption. airberlin will be launching a comprehensive range of flights to Croatia this year. Germany's second largest airline made the announcement in Zagreb on Tuesday. From 3 May to 11 October 2011, the airline will be operating 34 non-stop flights between Germany and the Adriatic holiday regions every week, providing an increased service during both the high and low holiday seasons."We want to expand our tourist service and address new target groups for Croatia," said Christian Lesjak, Executive Vice President Sales Scheduled Services at airberlin, during the press conference at the Croatian Tourist Board.
