Moscow, February 14, 2011 – The senior management of Transaero Airlines and Moscow Domodedovo Airport held a meeting on February 10 to discuss joint efforts for the establishment of additional security measures at the airport. On its own initiative Transaero Airlines has decided to increase its contribution to aviation security at Domodedovo Airport in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and current Russian legislation.Transaero’s aviation security department will set up additional fixed security checkpoints at the airport to increase Transaero aircraft security, specifically for the prevention of unauthorized access to aircraft. Transaero will increase the number of flights on which passengers have to undergo an interview with airline security officers prior to check-in, the so-called 'profiling' procedure common at international airports worldwide. As of 09:00 29 December 2010 87 flights have arrived, 85 - have departed. All airport services are working in intensified regime, all apron equipment is operating. Runways are cleared of snow and are operated in a normal mode. December 2010, 26 and 27 Moscow Domodedovo Airport experienced complete shut down of power supply. It took some time to return the estimated capacity of baggage sorting system and check-in operations as soon as the supply has been relatively restored.
