September 17th, 2011, the first flight of SriLankan Airlines - the national carrier of the Republic of Sri Lanka - landed at Moscow Domodedovo Airport.Among the first passengers, who arrived in Moscow, there was the Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of Sri Lanka, Mr. Vladimir Mikhailov, Commercial Director of SriLankan Airlines, Mr. Mohamad Fazil, and the Airlines’ regional manager in Russia, the Far East and Africa, Mr. Lal Perera. Upon arrival at Domodedovo, the delegation from Sri Lanka was met by representatives of the airport, as well as by members of the community of the republic of Sri Lanka in Russia. On September 14 the icon of Mother of God The Inexhaustible Cup arrived to Moscow Domodedovo Airport. It was delivered from Thessaloniki to the Temple of Prophet Elijah of the Pushkinskoe deanery of the Moscow diocese.
