DME Connections 2011: Ways of Increasing DME Competitiveness

November 9, 2011, the Domodedovo Airport invites representatives of airlines, aviation industry experts and journalists to participate in the annual Interline Conference “DME Connections 2011”. This year the Interline Conference will be attended by more than 40 Russian and foreign air carriers, such as Cathay Pacific, Etihad Airways, EL AL, Transaero, Thai Airways, S7 Airlines, Utair, AirBridgeCargo.

“Only a large aviation hub can offer its partner air carriers additional business opportunities through mutual cooperation,” said Marketing Director of the Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Vladimir Kamynin. “Co-operation of the airlines based in the same airport makes it possible to increase the payload, to expand route networks, and, as a result, to increase the competitiveness of the airlines.”

Passengers benefit from such cooperation as well. Agreements reached between the airlines will make it possible to offer passengers more comfortable and efficient transfer flights: the transportation is registered on a unified form of one airline, additional safeguards in the event of flight delays are provided, special rates are available, etc.

“We hope to expand our interline cooperation with other airlines, which will open up additional opportunities for passengers from different regions, who make a transfer at the Domodedovo Airport,” Tatyana Tokarenko, Head of Sales Department of EL AL in Russia, comments participation of the airline in the conference “DME Connections 2011”.

The Interline Conference “DME Connections 2011” is aimed at development of cooperation between Russian and foreign airlines operating flights to/from the Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The Conference consists of two parts: a presentation part and pre-planned bilateral meetings, where the airline representatives will have the opportunity to discuss possible options for cooperation with their partners and enter into bilateral agreements.

The DME Connections Interline Conference, initiated and organized by the Moscow Domodedovo Airport, has been held since 2000. During this time the Conference has become an international business platform for the negotiation, establishment and development of contacts among professionals of aviation market in Russia, the CIS countries and abroad.
