From Domodedovo to Russia’s Northern Sea Gates
Yamal Airlines has launched regular flights between Moscow and Arkhangelsk from Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Tickets are already on sale for the route, which represents the new, unique to Domodedovo destination. Arkhangelsk has been one of Russia’s main seaports in the North of Russia since the early 17th century. Today it is the historical and industrial capital of the Pomorye region, the cradle of the culture and traditions of Russia’s North.
As well as offering a fascinating destination for tourists, the Arkhangelsk route gives additional opportunities to Domodedovo’s transit network. Yamal Airlines can offer both its own connecting flights and connections with partner airlines as the part of Domodedovo Transfer Service project. The Project offers passengers air tickets at special through rates for transfer routes via Domodedovo. The Sirena-Travel booking system now offers through rates to Arkhangelsk via Domodedovo from the cities all over Russia (including Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Taganrog, Salekhard, Novy Urengoy, Nadym, Noyabrsk, etc).
Yamal will operate its flights to Arkhangelsk from Moscow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on the CRJ aircraft, which offers high standards of comfort to passengers. The departure from Domodedovo is at 11:55 with the arrival in Arkhangelsk at 13:45. Departures from Arkhangelsk will be at 14:45, arriving in Moscow at 16:40.
Yamal Airlines started operating flights to Domodedovo on October 27, 2003 to destinations including Nadym, Novy Urengoy, Salekhard, Tyumen, Ufa, Taganrog and Krasnoyarsk in Russia, as well as Lvov and Kharkov in Ukraine. Yamal is one of the leading Russian regional airlines by the number and quality of its services. The Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport ranked Yamal 9th by the number of passenger transportation among Russian airlines in September 2012.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia in terms of passenger traffic. In 2011, total passenger traffic of the airport amounted to 25,701,610 people which let Domodedovo to become the first Russian airport to join the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI). Domodedovo is the base airport in Russia for member airlines of two largest global airline alliances - oneworld and Star Alliance. Moscow Domodedovo Airport tops the list of the best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of the service quality, according to the annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
