Domodedovo Airport Welcomed 500 Olympic Delegates from 60 Countries
Moscow Domodedovo Airport welcomed about 500 delegates from 60 countries who came to the meeting of the XVIII General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), which was held in Moscow from 13 to 17 April.
Ministers of sport of the participant countries, heads of national Olympic committees, including representatives of royal families of the Middle East South-East Asia - Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal of Saudi Arabia and Prince Bolkiah of Brunei, - came through the arrival area of the airport during these several days. Domodedovo facilitated the heist level of acceptance services for the delegates together with the volunteers from the Association of National Olympic Committees who had been working for ten days 24-hour a day.
The General Assembly with the participation of officials from international sports organizations around the world was for the first time held in Russia. About 1 000 delegates from more than 200 countries attended the Assembly. New President of ANOC was elected at the Moscow Assembly. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah accepted this official appointment.
Domodedovo Airport has many years’ experience of departure and acceptance of athletes and fans for major international competitions. In 2012 Domodedovo Airport sent-off and then greeted the team of the Youth Olympic Team of Russia and their official fan group for the I Winter Youth Olympics, and also organized the acceptance of the KAMAZ-Master team after the renown off-road rally-marathon "Dakar - 2012."

According to the results of 2011 the airport serviced 25 701 610 people, which number puts it in line with the largest European airports according to the ACI classification. The members of the leading global airline alliances oneworld and Star Alliance have chosen Moscow Domodedovo Airport for their flights to Moscow. Since 2010 Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been topping the list of the best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of service quality according to the annual survey of the international research company Skytrax Research (Great Britain).
