“Ural Airlines” launched a new flight from Moscow to Cologne from Domodedovo Airport
On April 2, 2012 “Ural Airlines” launched first regular flight from Moscow Domodedovo Airport on Moscow – Cologne (Germany) route. Flight frequency will make three times a week, which will be increased up to four flights a week in June.
“Germany is an open and quite attractive market. I am sure that the new route will be very popular”, Vladimir Kamynin, Marketing Director for Moscow Domodedovo Airport, said. “We are happy to cooperate with one of the major Russian airlines and offer passengers of Ural and Siberian regions of Russia additional opportunities for flights to neighbouring countries and beyond.”
The schedule of the new flight has been designed taking into consideration the needs of transit passengers so that the waiting time between flights in Moscow did not exceed 4 hours.
Journalists of federal and regional media were invited to appreciate the convenience of the new route of “Ural Airlines”. They, together with other passengers, flew to Cologne on the first flight in order to tell their audience about the new route from Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
OJSC “Ural Airlines” is one of the leading Russian airlines in terms of traffic volume. Since the beginning of 2012, “Ural Airlines” has carried out 3,296 flights. During January and February 2012 the airline provided its services to 369,503 people. The basis of the fleet of “Ural Airlines” is represented by modern and comfortable airplanes of the European consortium Airbus. The airline successfully uses 23 modern AirbusA320 and 9- A321 on Russian and international routes.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport in passenger traffic in Russia. In 2011, the airport served 25,701,610 people, which enabled it to become one of the largest airports in Europe according to the ACI classification. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been chosen for flights to Moscow by members of the world's leading aviation alliances - Star Alliance, oneworld. Since 2010, Moscow Domodedovo Airport tops the list of the best airports in the Eastern Europe by quality of service, according to an annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
