“World on a plate”: new menu for new navigation season
Catering facility of Moscow Domodedovo Airport is happy to offer passengers and airlines the new concept: “World on a plate” developed for the 2012 spring-summer season. It was created with the participation of Rainer Sigg, world-class chef, winner of Michelin stars.
One of the characteristic features of the “World on a plate” concept is a selection of four cuisines: American, European, Russian and Asian. This classification will allow airlines - partners of Domodedovo, the airport which has the most extensive route network among Russian airports, to create on board the aircraft the atmosphere of a country to which it flies.
Members of the special Tasting Council had the chance to be the first to appreciate the new concept and had the task to approve courses offered for the new navigation season. This year, both personnel of the airport and representatives of media and airlines became members of the Council.
“I am glad that Moscow Domodedovo Airport engages independent experts to the evaluation of taste, design, quality of food”, Alexander Ilyin, deputy chief editor of Gastronom.ru, who took part in the work of the Council for the first time, noted. “Most courses offered comply with international catering standards. But in my opinion, traditional Russian courses appear to be the best. In particular, the idea of serving classical Russian minced-meat cutlets is incredibly fresh and clever.”
Members of the Council tasted over 100 courses and approved almost all of them for further offer to airlines. Since May 2012 passengers will be able to appreciate the updated menu.
