Jury Determined Finalists of Competition “Moscow Domodedovo Airport: 50 Years, 50 Bright Pages of History”
April 2, 2012, there was held a meeting of the jury of the competition “50 Years, 50 Bright Pages of History”, which was timed to coincide with the anniversary of Moscow Domodedovo Airport. More than 500 materials were submitted for consideration, including the originals of unique historical photographs, publications of previous years, gathered by students and schoolchildren of the target program “Inflow”, which the airport is implementing in cooperation with universities, colleges and schools.
вЂI am impressed not only by how much valuable material was submitted to the competition, but by how much soul these guys put into this,’ - said the jury member Yevgeniy Safonov, Director of the Domodedovo Branch of Russian State Humanitarian University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor.
вЂIt was a pleasure to dip into the history and feel the spirit of the time. It is amazing how carefully the students were gathering materials, working in archives and gathering detailed collections of historical photographs, which were provided for consideration by the competition committee,’ - said Yuriy Afanasyev, a professional advertising photographer, a member of the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP).
Jurors not only assessed the work of participants, but also were the first to congratulate Moscow Domodedovo Airport on its anniversary, celebrated on April 7.

Following 2011, the airport has served 25,701,610 people and entered the group of the largest European airports, according to the ACI classification. Since 2010, Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been on top of the list of the best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of the service quality, according to the annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
