Domodedovo Airport, Moscow: 50 years and 50 remarkable chapters in history
On April 7, 2012 Domodedovo airport will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Now it emerges as the flagship of Russia’s air harbors ranked by its passenger traffic.
The contest "Moscow Domodedovo Airport: 50 years and 50 remarkable chapters in history" will enhance the knowledge of a half-century history of the airport. The contest is held by the airport for students and schoolchildren under the recruitment programme Pritok (Inflow) sponsored by Domodedovo in cooperation with higher and secondary educational institutions.
The participants should carefully study family archives, visit libraries and browse Internet to find any related publications, film- and video materials (dated before 2004).
The collected materials should be prepared in accordance with the competition requirements and submitted to 50@dme.ru before March 25, 2012. The deadline for submitting applicants’ works is 6:00 p.m. Moscow time.
The submissions will be judged by a competent panel which includes university rectors, well-known bloggers, journalists, photographers, Domodedovo Airport Museum staff members and veterans of the airport service.
Winners will receive valuable awards for:
unique/exclusive (early) materials;the largest scope of collected materials;and the most interesting stories related to the airport.
The competition results will be announced in April 2012.

Pritok (Inflow) Recruitment Programme was developed to engage young and ambitious specialists for their training and further employment at Domodedovo Airport. Pritok Program has been pursued by the airport for 10 years. One programme’s major know-how is engagement of teenagers, students of 9th-10th grades of secondary schools who attend pre-study training courses held by partner higher and secondary professional educational institutions.
