The Sheremetyevo International Airport has selected aВ partner, AECOM, for implementation ofВ new Terminal BВ and Inter-Terminal Communication projects
On July 8th, 2014, the management of SP “Terminal B Sheremetyevo” and SP “Sheremetyevo Inter-Terminal Passage” signed with AECOM two project management agreements for construction of a new Terminal B of the Northern terminal complex (NTC) and Inter-Terminal Passage (passenger and luggage tunnels between STC and NTC). International company AECOM was selected by OJSC ’MASH’ and the investor as a result of tender procedures. Partnership agreements are valid till 2017 — estimated deadline of projects implementation.
Upon agreement ofВ the parties AECOM will provide aВ scope ofВ construction project management services: coordination and control over design works, control over surveys execution, arrangement and coordination ofВ technical supervision asВ per the Town-Planning Code ofВ the Russian Federation, elaboration and approval ofВ works schedule, control over compliance with the requirements ofВ author and technical supervision, and facilities acceptance.
Previously the Sheremetyevo International Airport and AECOM successfully cooperated on two key projects — construction of Sheremetyevo Terminal E and the new terminal in the Vladivostok International Airport.
The area ofВ the new terminalВ B will amount atВ 100K sq.m., its capacity will beВ 15M people per year. The tunnels (the passenger and luggage ones) 2138В m each will connect the northern and the southern areas ofВ the airport.
Construction ofВ the new terminal inВ the northern area ofВ Sheremetyevo airport will ensure increase inВ passenger traffic toВ 53В mln passengers byВ 2023 while maintaining high level ofВ service. Tunnel capacity will enable itВ toВ service the whole scope ofВ transfer passenger flow between the STC and NTC. Opening ofВ inter-terminal passenger and luggage passage will considerably decrease the minimal connection time and will many times increase the speed ofВ passenger transfer and luggage transportation between the terminals. Enhanced logistics between the terminals will make Sheremetyevo even more attractive for carriers and passengers.The projects are delivered within the framework ofВ preparation toВ the FIFA World Cup toВ beВ held inВ Russia inВ 2018.
Sheremetyevo International Airport was named the best European airport inВ terms ofВ service quality inВ 2013 according toВ ASQ (Airport Service Quality) program ofВ ACI (Airports Council International).
Summarizing the results ofВ 2013, passenger traffic was 29В 256В 000 people orВ 11.7В % more than inВ 2012.
