Domodedovo Airport Maintains Leading Positions in Terms of Passenger Traffic Growth
Following nine months of 2011, passenger traffic at Moscow Domodedovo Airport was 19,804,483 people. It increased by 16.9% compared to January-September 2010. In September 2011, the total number of passengers, which used the services of Moscow Domodedovo Airport, was 2,651,653, which is 20.5% higher than in September 2010.
The number of flights in September 2011 increased by 13.2% compared with September last year and amounted to 22,230 takeoff and landing operations.
In January - September 2011, 184,597 flights have been served, which is 17.3% more than for the same period in 2010.
In September 2011 passenger traffic on domestic flights was 998,476 people. It has increased by 16.3% compared to September 2010. During the period from January to September this year, domestic passenger traffic amounted to 7,663,453 people, that is 15.9% more than in January-September last year. The highest growth was recorded in the following domestic areas: Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Novy Urengoy. Passenger traffic in these destinations amounted to 1,895,000 people, that is 37.4% more than the same period last year.
In September 2011, passenger traffic on international flights increased by 23.2% compared to last year and amounted to 1,653,177 people. During the period from January to September 2011, international passenger traffic totaled 12,141,030 people. (plus 17.6% by January-September 2010). The highest growth was recorded in the following destinations: Antalya, Barcelona, Munich, Frankfurt-am-Main, Paphos. In January-September 2011, 2,312,000 people were transported in these destinations, that is 60.3% more than within the same period last year.
Cargo traffic at Domodedovo Airport, in September 2011, amounted to 16,676 tonnes, which is 12.8% more compared to last year. During the period from January to September 2011, cargo traffic at Domodedovo Airport has increased by 23.1% compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 135,435 tonnes.

For 10 years, passenger traffic has increased almost 10-fold, from 2.8 million in 2000 to 22.3 million passengers in 2010.
