Air Berlin: Every euro helps "A Heart For Children"
Air Berlin passengers booking their flight online at airberlin.com have an opportunity to support the charity organised by the German BILD newspaper "A Heart For Children" ("Ein Herz fќr Kinder"). During the booking process cus-tomers can choose to donate one euro. Those taking up the option will have that amount added to their fare. Not a single cent goes towards administration costs.
"In 2009 a large number of our passengers supported "A Heart For Children" by donating over 125,000 euros. I am delighted with such active support from our customers. Air Berlin has rounded this amount up to 200,000 euros because, along with our passengers, we are convinced that it is particularly important in times such as these to help disadvantaged children and to give those children a future," said Air Berlin?s CEO Joachim Hunold.
The BILD charity allocates two thirds of donations to children in Germany, with the other third going to children in need throughout the world. "A Heart For Children" is particularly committed to the areas of education and health, and to fighting poverty. The contributions are used to support kindergartens, schools, playgrounds, children's clinics as well as soup kitchens.
