Hangar Facilities of Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base to Be Expanded
Within the framework of a long-term program aimed at modernization of Domodedovo International Airport, the Board of Directors of EAST LINE Group made a decision to develop hangar facilities of the Aircraft Maintenance Base with a view of further quality improvement of services provided to the airport partners.
In accordance with the decision, a construction site for a new hangar designated for the aircraft maintenance and repair has been determined. The hangar will be erected 200 meters northwards from the existing hangar of the Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base, along the intrairport road. The new hangar designing will be commenced this year. Construction of the hangar is scheduled to start in spring, 2007.
The hangar with the square of over 15,000 sq. m. will consist of three sections, one of which is designated for Boeing-747, the other two – for Boeing-767.
Construction of the hangar will be a successive stage in a complex reconstruction of the Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base. In the course of further works additional facilities will be built: the new hangar will be combined with the existing facilities of the Aircraft Maintenance Base by means of two additional sections. In a long-term perspective a number of hangars is planned to be erected on the territory where the business aviation facilities are currently located.
At present, commissioning of special premises for engineering teams of the Aircraft Maintenance Base (AMB) is being continued. In November 2006 the facility reconstruction with the total square of over 3,000 sq. m. will be accomplished. On its territory office and storage facilities, workshops and parks for vehicles will be located. In addition, a complex reconstruction of the facilities of the Aircraft Maintenance Base will be performed, as a result of which its technical equipment will be in compliance with the present-day requirements.
The new hangar commissioning will be a logical response to a constant growth of Domodedovo-based airlines and modernization of their fleet.

Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base (AMB) was founded in 1963 as a part of Domodedovo Civil Aviation Production Association. Since December 1997 AMB Domodedovo ZAO has become a separate entity being part of EAST LINE Group. On productive capacities of the Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base aircraft of over 150 airlines of Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries are being regularly maintained. The hangar facilities of the Aircraft Maintenance Base with the square of 40,000 sq. m. are capable to accommodate up to four wide-body liners of Il-96 or A310 types and are one of the largest hangar facilities in Russia. As decided by the State Civil Aviation Authority of the Russian Federation (currently known as the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia), the Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base has become the main center for the aircraft maintenance and repair (Il and Tu types).
