Domodedovo International Airport’s Performance Results for Seven Months of 2006
According to the results of January-July 2006, Domodedovo International Airport maintains the leading position in terms of passenger traffic in the Moscow aviation hub.
In the first seven months of 2006 passenger throughput reached 8,366,000 passengers, a 11,6% increase over the same period of 2005.
The highest growth was recorded on the routes to such destinations as Bangkok, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, St.Petersburg, Volgograd, Samara, London, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Larnaka, Mineralnye Vody. Domodedovo serviced 1,130,000 passengers on these routes, a 50% growth against the results of January-July 2005.
Passenger traffic in July 2006 amounted to 1,733,000 passengers, an 8.1% growth against the result of July 2005.
Domodedovo actively enhances its aviation security within the ICAO standards and Russian laws. Domodedovo in co-operation with EL AL Israel Airlines installed a unique scanner CTX 5500 DS in the check-in area. In May 2006 the local unit of the Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare of the Moscow region granted the airport’s Aviation Security Service the license permitting to work with sources of ionizing radiation to carry on luggage, goods and carry-on baggage checks.

passenger traffic on international routes in January-July 2006 exceeded 4,571,000 passengers, a 8.0% increase over the same period of 2005;
passenger traffic on domestic routes in the first seven months of 2006 amounted to 3,795,000 passengers, a 16.2% increase against the results of January-July 2005;
passenger throughput on international routes (including to the CIS countries) in July reached 980,000 passengers, a 4.7% growth over July 2005;
passenger throughput on domestic routes in July 2006 amounted to 753,000 passengers, a 12.7% increase against July 2005.
