Representatives of the Council of German Economy visit Domodedovo International Airport
On January 27 Domodedovo International Airport was visited by a delegation of representatives of the German Economy Council, uniting more 400 German companies, actively participating on the Russian market. The visit of the delegation, which included representatives from Lufthansa, Euro Lloyd Reiseburo, OBERMEYER Consult, REWICO Russia International Logistics, TransCare AG, DaimlerChrysler and others, was organised in the framework of a long-term project "International Organisations Day at Domodedovo International Airport", which is aimed at informing international business community on the airport's opportunities and potential to further develop passenger and cargo transportation between Russia and foreign countries.
The information-rich programme of the event started at the Domodedovo city terminal at Paveletskiy railway station, where airport passengers can complete ticket and baggage check-in procedures 24 hours prior to departure. Members of the delegation were pleasantly impressed with a trip to the Domodedovo airport on the high-speed non-stop AeroExpress train, which provides regular transportation between the Paveletskiy station and Domodedovo.
The guests gave the highest estimates for advanced equipment of the departure and arrival areas, efficient and quick passenger check-in service due to increased amount of check-in counters. The guests expressed a view that Domodedovo corresponds to the best international airport in terms of amount of services provided and technologies used. The delegates also visited Domodedovo Cargo Terminal, which raised their greatest interest.
The programme finsihed with a working meeting of the German business representatives with the management of Domodedovo International Airport. The guests were impressed to learn of large-scale development projects of EAST LINE Group to further increase the airport's capacity and introduce new services for passengers and airlines. As a result of the meeting, the working group for transport and travel of the Council and EAST LINE Group arrived to an agreement to maintain closer contact.
