Airport European Council Management (ACI Europe) highly evaluated level of services in Domodedovo International Airport
Philip Hamon, ACI-Europe general director, and John Hume, ACI-Europe director responsible for politics of the organisation, visited
During the visit ACI-Europe delegation had a meeting with top management of EAST LINE Group, a managing company of Domodedovo Airport, and got acquainted with daily operations of the airport.
In a frame of the visit ACI-Europe general director gave a press briefing for Russian media and answered a number of questions that Russian journalists were interested in.
Speaking about Domodedovo International Airport Mr.Hamon noted: “I am surprised. I hardly recognised the airport: it has considerably changed since the time of my last visit. And I want to say that Domodedovo is really the international-level airport meeting all international requirements”.
ACI-Europe chief underlined: “I liked broad opportunities for future development of the airport, especially in terms of building additional modules in case airport development requires it. The use of module system development will allow to keep up with future growth of passenger turnover”. According to Mr. Hamon: “Only few airports in Europe has such opportunities for further development and building additional runways that Domodedovo International airport can boast of”.
Answering the question of what he remembered most of all during his visit to Domodedovo airport Mr. Hamon said that he liked a lot railway services for passengers. It is rather rare and, from the other side, very convenient service that Domodedovo Airport offers to its passengers. The other big impression was Domodedovo cargo terminal.
In conclusion the chief of such respected international organisation highlighted: “I think it is very good for Moscow that it has several airports as competition is an additional economic incentive for development of the Russian capital. And the winner of this competition is certainly a passenger”.
