EAST LINE Air Ticket Agency introduces a new service - railway tickets booking. The service has become available according to the agreement signed between the agency and Moscow Railroad. Currently, railway tickets are already being sold in one of the agency's Moscow offices. Agency's corporate clients can book railway tickets. In August, it is planned to open booking for consumer clients in other four offices of the EAST LINE agency. Special terminals with software to draw up railway tickets has been installed in five agency's offices. The terminals are connected to Russian Railroads Data Base via Internet. According to the agreement, a railway ticket desk is to comply with Moscow Railroad requirements for safety, functionality and adequate information supply. EAST LINE Air Ticket Agency has signed an agreement with Student Travel Agency (STA) to sell air tickets at special discounted prices for students and teachers. The sales are to start in late August. STA is a global international network with affiliate offices all around the world. The company offers students and teachers tickets at special prices ensured by the agreements signed with different airlines. Russian representative office of STA has such agreements with different airlines, including Russian carriers Aeroflot and Siberia. EAST LINE Technik, a subsidiary of EAST LINE Group, has signed agreements on technical maintenance of foreign-made aircrafts with 4 new airlines performing flights to Domodedovo International Airport. Under the new agreements, 17 foreign-made aircrafts will be serviced by the enterprise, twelve of which are Boeings 757 belonging to VIM-Avia, two Boeings 767 of KrasAir, two Airbuses 320 of Air Moldova, and a Boeing 737-800 belonging to Tourkish carrier SunExpress, which started flying to Domodedovo recently. August 3, 2004 is a two year anniversary of the rapid transportation system linking central Moscow with Domodedovo International Airport. The project jointly implemented by the Ministry of transportation of Russia, Moscow Railroads and EAST LINE Group, managing Domodedovo, was the first in Russia to bring up into one technological process air and rail transportaion, making it possible for passengers to considerably shorten travel time. Eight new aircraft parking areas have been fitted out with centralized fuelling system equipment at Domodedovo International Airport. Calibration Laboratory of Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base is a pioneer in Russia to get accreditation for ISO 17025 standard "General Requirements for Testing and Calibration Laboratory Competence". "Deutscher Kalibrierdienst" company (Germany), a member of International Association for Calibration, plans to give accreditation for the laboratory in 2005. Within first six months of 2004, the total passenger traffic at Domodedovo International Airport reached 5.290 million, which is 46.4% growth year on year. On July 14 Turkish carrier "SunExpress" launched regular flights to Domodedovo International Airport from Antalia on the Mediterranean Turkish coast. A scheduled flight to Leipzig is opened, becoming the first flight on this destination performed from Moscow aviation area in the post-USSR period. The new flight is the 27th international destination in the airport's scheduled flights network. As of June 2004, the number of international destinations in the network of Domodedovo International Airport grew 60% compared to June 2003. A new medical assistance station with the latest equipment has been launched at the international transfer area of Domodedovo International Airport. Highly professional personnel of the station will be available round the clock to provide medical assistance to passengers who completed check-in, customs and passport control procedures. A specialized dog service centre will be established at Domodedovo International Airport. Currently, dogs serving at Domodedovo International Airport are kept in a makeshift 6-enclosure facility. An annual football tournament took place in Prague recently. The event gathered best football teams from airlines and airports of Italy, Czechia, Russia, Finland, Slovakia and Portugal. The official ceremony to present aircraft approval certificates to TU-204-120CE and TU-334 aircraft produced by JSC Tupolev was held at Domodedovo International Airport on June 23, 2004.
