The Aviation Security Department of Domodedovo International Airport has incorporated the new generation SafeScout 100 screener into its common security system. The decision to deploy the equipment was taken upon its successful testing.To date, there are four SafeScout screeners operating in the airport. Two of them are installed in the business class passengers walkways of the international flights area and of the domestic flights area.  Other two screeners are in the common security check area of the international flights area.Passengers passing through SafeScout 100 may keep their shoes and belts on and are not subjected to compulsory physical inspection that has been practiced in Russian airports since October, 2004. Therefore, the ethical aspect of the inspection is honoured with respect to certain categories of passengers who, due to religious reasons would be reluctant to take their shoes off or to undergo physical inspection. The final of the Etalon contest organized by EAST LINE Group and supported by Persona Image Agency, was held at Domodedovo International Airport. Over thousand front line members of staff, check-in agents, business and VIP lounge agents-those who work in customer-facing roles -took part in the Etalon Contest.The competition was designed to challenge the participants to enhance their professional self image and boast their confidence. Domodedovo International Airport in co-operation with Tatarstan Airlines has started a new intermodal project designed to take passengers from Moscow city centre to Nizhniy Novgorod in 140 minutes. Also, Tatarstan Airlines introduces extra flight from Domodedovo to Kazan which came into operation from 25th March 2007. It has been a year since Singapore Airlines (SIA) launched their flights from Domodedovo International Airport. Domodedovo International Airport summarised its performance results for two months of 2007. Statistics shows that Domodedovo holds the leading position among Moscow airports. Overall passenger traffic of Domodedovo reached two million one hundred and twenty nine thousand passengers in January/February 2007, a 20.2 per cent over the same period in 2006.The biggest growth was recorded on flights to Ekaterinburg, Hurgada, Bangkok, Tashkent, London, Utapao, Saint Petersburg, Dushanbe, Chelyabinsk and Istanbul. Starting today, the Rapid Transport System (RTS) train connecting Domodedovo International Airport with Paveletskiy train station increases its service frequency. Total number of services from Paveletskiy is now 28 times to and 27 times from the airport.The new 22:34 service from Paveletskiy station in Moscow will be arriving in the airport at 23:17. The new return service will be departing from the airport at 13:00 and arriving in Moscow at 14:15. Three new destinations have been added to to Domodedovo International Airport route network. Today, Austrian Airlines has completed its large-scale transfer of all operations to Domodedovo International Airport. According to the results of Domodedovo International Airport activities in January 2007, Domodedovo is maintaining its leading position among Moscow area airports in terms of passenger traffic. Overall passenger throughput at Domodedovo in January 2007 reached 1,128,000 passengers, a 19.8% increase over the same period of 2006. Domodedovo International Airport has summarized the results of the charity event that was organized in partnership with the Russian edition of the National Geographic magazine and held in the airport’s business lounges during the period of December 25, 2006 – January 25, 2007. A total of 542 people took part in the event and contributed over 27,000 rubles. The TU-154 plane of the Orenburg Air Lines Air Company, side number 85604, which took off from Domodedovo Airport on a flight from Moscow to Orenburg at 14:55 Moscow time, made  an emergency landing in Domodedovo Airport  at 15:06.Several minutes after the plane took off  fire-extinguishing systems operated inside the engine.The plane was carrying  51 passengers and  nine crew members.Nobody was hurt.   >>>
