Sheremetyevo International Airport has been awarded for its contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian relations between Russia and Israel. Uzi Landau, Israeli Minister of Tourism, awarded Sheremetyevo Airport representatives with certificates of gratitude as part of the 21st Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT-2014), which was held on March 19–22, 2014 in Moscow.
Sheremetyevo Airport strongly supports the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Russia and Israel, and has been cooperating with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism for a number of years. For example, in 2013, as part of the Passenger Day and Travel Festival, Sheremetyevo Airport became the center stage for performances by professional opera singers from Israel and Russia, as well as for a special country presentation. Passengers and guests got the opportunity to learn about Israel’s sightseeing attractions and cultural traditions, as well as to try some national dishes and pick up travel brochures.
Sheremetyevo Airport is a unique platform for different art projects, including those aimed at social development. The organization of exhibitions, presentations and concerts not only helps to create a positive atmosphere at airport terminals, but also to fulfill the airport’s main mission, which is to unite diverse peoples within mankind. Since 2009, Sheremetyevo Airport has organized about 50 art projects.
