About Air Italy

Air Italy was established 2005 mainly through the hard work and commitment of Captain Giuseppe Gentile, who was also the founder of Air Europe. Air Italy is a young but solid company that, after its initial activity as medium- and long-haul leisure carrier, has also been operating regular scheduled domestic flights since June 2007.

Thanks to its operating reliability and proven safety standards, Air Italy has fast become one of the foremost suppliers of Italian tour operators as well as the public’s favourite scheduled flight company in the reference markets.

The company’s punctuality rate is one of its major assets and in 2010 it averaged 91.1%, with peak levels of almost 100% (98% punctuality in September 2010).

Air Italy has a team of certified maintenance technicians and a hangar at the Verona base for all necessary work. Passenger safety is a constant benchmark for the company. To ensure top operating standards Air Italy can also rely on its own certified internal structure for aircrew training.

The markets served with medium- and long-haul flights are: North-East Brazil (Fortaleza, Maceio, Natal, Salvador de Bahia), Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Zanzibar, Mauritius, Maldives, Madagascar as well as Egypt and the Mediterranean countries. The domestic routes serve the main Italian airports: Turin, Milan Orio al Serio, Verona, Genoa, Rome, Naples, Bari, Catania and Palermo. In the summer Air Italy offers many connections to Olbia from the cities of Turin, Genoa, Bergamo, Naples, Bari and Catania.

On 4 May 2010 Air Italy entered into a code-share agreement with Alitalia, allowing it to increase the number of destinations on offer and the frequency of flights as well as improving the timetables of flights it already operated so as to satisfy a growing customer base. Air Italy will have carried almost 1.5 million passengers by the end of 2010.

Air Italy has also established a subsidiary airline in Poland: Air Italy Polska.

Overall the Air Italy Group has 15 aircraft (four Boeing 767, one Boeing 757, seven Boeing 737 Classic and three Boeing 737 New Generation) and approximately 700 employees.

With careful cost management Air Italy has grown rapidly at an average rate of 100% a year in the period 2005 – 2008, achieving a turnover for 2008 of €230 million and continuing these levels even in the critical two-year period 2008 – 2010. The most important aspect, however, is that this growth has been accomplished while maintaining an economic and financial stability with regard to its assets. Price Waterhouse certifies the company’s financial statements.

Air Italy’s ambitions do not stop at the results that have already been achieved.

Reliability, passion for excellence and the confidence of knowing how to fly will guide the Airline towards very significant results in the near future.
