Air Berlin resumes normal flight operations
Air Berlin, Germany’s second largest airline, will be resuming normal flight operations in the course of the day and will be able to carry out almost all the flights scheduled for today. This is now possible as DFS (German air traffic control) has begun gradually to open up the airspace above Germany for instrument flights. All airports will be open by midday. This morning all ad-hoc Air Berlin flights have been able to take off, although there were some minor delays. Air Berlin will further increase the number of its flights over the next few days and expects to be able to return to full operation by the end of the week.
A few individual flights may still be cancelled. Air Berlin asks all passengers to check their flight online at airberlin.com or by calling 00800 5 737 8000 toll-free before travelling to the airport as usual.
